Happy Birthday

Its my birthday and I'll love it if I want to . . . and I do! I love birthdays and this one was no exception. Lots of fun things happened but the most note worthy was a poem I received from Rob. It was just what I wanted.

About 2 months ago, I had a dream that Rob gave me a poem. All I remember about the poem was the title,"But we're not talking about the weather" So Rob wrote it and its everything a poem should be.

But We're Not Talking About the Weather

It's bright, warm and sunny but at the same time pouring down
It's sometimes clear and calm, then an abrupt climate change
It requires acclimation, but at first can be a strike of lightning
But we're not talking about the weather

It gets my blood pumping and my heart racing with excitement and anticipation
It's a marathon and a sprint; tests my endurance and my strength
It's a homerun, slam dunk, scoooooore!!!
But we're not talking about sports

It's an attractive nuisance or motion for discovery
It's an affirmation of a bond and a declaration of pleading
It's a witness' testimony and service delivered on a party
But we're not talking about the law

It can teach you a great deal, it's both a science and an art
It's history in the making and music to my ears
It's advanced mathematics; one plus one is more than two
But we're not talking about school

It is primary, it concerns both young men and young women
It allows people to worship properly and to have fun together
It concerns charity and hope and redemption and joy
But we're not talking about religion

It's everyday's gift to have someone with whom to forever give and receive it
It grows eternally with dedication, adoration, devotion and passion
It is all of this, but most importantly, that which I feel for you!
And yes, we're talking about love.
