Rob's done it again!!!!!!

To The Mother I Call Wife

Just two short years ago next month
I'd found a certain someone
Who gave a simple answer when
I asked a certain question

And who'd have know the joy I'd find
Just thirteen quick months passing
When this sweet woman soon became
The Mother of my Off Spring.

She cooks she cleans she rocks to sleep
She plays produces laughter
She teaches faith and love of life
The list goes ever after

And even when the times are tough
When every things a mess,
She quickly laughs it off, you see
She chooses happiness

So how can I, a lowly man,
Who loves this woman so,
Express my thanks in such a way
That how I feel she'll know?

I know! I'll write this simple poem
About my life,
And give it to that lovely girl
The Mother I call Wife

-Rober Van Dyke

Happy Mother's Day to Me!!! It began with breakfast in bed, picnic on the living room floor (too windy outside for Abbie), and this lovely poem. I'm the luckiest Woman

And to the woman he calls his mother. Thanks for teaching him how to love and respect. I Love you Mama Van Dyke!

And of course to my mother, I couldn't say enough good things. But I won't because it would be so embarasing. But I love you - more than all the mushy stuff that is found in Hallmark Mother's Day Cards.

  1. Thank you Tammie. The card you made for me is so much better than "all the mushy stuff that is found in Hallmark Mother's Day Cards". At least it was heart felt homemade "mushy stuff". I loved it. Thanks. And, I love you too!
I also love Rob's poem. Be sure to hang onto it. I still have the poem David wrote me 30 years ago.
