We celebrated Lincoln's half birthday on Monday. Of course he had to have a birthday crown which he did not mind at all (-: He also had his first solid food. We started with oatmeal - yum!
Lincoln really didn't know what to do about it. He didn't understand the concept of opening your mouth. He just wanted to grab the spoon. Silly Boy!
Abbie loved having the party. She sang, helped him blow out his candle and insisted on feeding him. It was really cute!
After oatmeal we played a game that is a traditional game they play in Korea. We place 4 objects in front of Lincoln that represent certain things/careers and whatever he grabs indicates his path in live. The Koreans usually do it when the baby is 100 days old but we think that 3 months is just way to early to determine your child's destiny - 6 months is so much better (-:
The objects are:
A ball - hard worker, athletic, blue collar worker
Pen - scholar, academic, professor
Missionary name tag - religious, spiritual, usually poor
Money - wealthy, business savvy
When we place Lincoln down he immediately looked at the ball and reached but then changed his mind. He then took a few seconds but eventual decided first on the Money. I think this is great he will be able to take of his parents when we are old decrepit (-: He then choose the pen quickly followed by the name tag. He never again looked at the ball.
So there you have it - you read what you want to read into it (-:
